About two weeks ago Nora woke up and she was off. Very tired and groggy. So her and I went downstairs and I just assumed she wasn't ready to get up. So Andrew takes her and they are rocking in the chair, and we assume she will go back to sleep for a little while. It got to the point where we could not keep her awake. It escalated very quickly. She was lethargic. Her eyes rolling to the back of her head. Andrew and I couldn't even get her to sit up. She was delirious. We took her to Urgent Care. Vitals were all in normal range. Doctor told us if she wasn't at "her baseline" then to bring her straight to the ER. Of course we explained to this doctor that Nora is normally a hyper kid. This doctor checked her eyes, ears, etc. Nora didn't even move. Normally it takes two people to hold her while her ears are checked. Doctor asked if she had a seizure due to it appearing that she was postictal.

"No, not that we know of. She hasn't left our sight all morning."

*Did she have one in the night/early morning?

Doctor declared it viral and to just keep an eye on her.

Fuck. Andrew brought her to her primary three days later for a follow up.

Long story short, Nora is scheduled for an EEG.

Take a few steps back: Nora does this thing where she zones out. Stares blankly for a couple seconds. Then comes back like it didn't happen. Doesn't happen often. But often enough to have noticed it over the last two years.

Was Nora having absence seizures this whole fucking time and I didn't know? I just assumed she was being her weird self? Autism is hard sometimes.

God Damn.

Virtual Learning is the enemy.

Nora started her new school. We are finishing up week 2. It's going well. My only complaint is that I was very used to open and constant...
